Most kitchens don’t find out they have a maintenance problem. They find out they have an emergency. The walk-in is creeping warm by 2pm, the compressor won’t stop running, and by the time anyone calls, it’s not a maintenance visit anymore — it’s a breakdown.
A scheduled PM visit is built to catch the problem before that happens. Here’s what one actually covers, and what turns up when a kitchen has gone without one for too long.

A plan, not a panic.
Q01What does a preventative maintenance visit actually include?
Four steps: a full inspection of every system in the kitchen, a catalog of your equipment’s make/model/serial, replacement of any worn parts, and a written report of what was found and recommended.
Q02How do I know if my walk-in’s condenser needs cleaning?
If your box is creeping warm by 2pm, that’s the warning sign. A grease-caked coil can’t dump heat, and on a hot day the compressor will run itself to death trying to compensate.
Q03What’s the response time on HRI’s maintenance plans?
A guaranteed 48-hour response, plus parts discounts for plan members. Planned care consistently costs less than an emergency call.

Your journey begins with a 30-60 minute initial meeting led by your assigned Chef Designer. This session is dedicated to understanding your vision and needs, translating them into an initial design. Following this, we’ll reconvene for a real-time collaboration session to refine the design. Based on your chosen package, you’ll have two to three meetings to review and finalize the design. For more details on what each package includes, click here.
Our design timelines vary, with some packages being completed in just 2-4 weeks. Your Chef will keep you informed about the expected timelines and next steps during each meeting.
Communication is through email and text, with the Design Kick-Off and subsequent meetings held over Zoom. This allows for real-time collaboration and adjustments. All designs will be sent to you in PDF format via email.
We aim to design spaces that efficiently fulfill your vision. If you wish to incorporate existing equipment, please bring the necessary details to the initial meeting.
